It isn't on the web site but the info is from a small catalog "Thank You Sale/Warehouse Clearance Sale enclosed in a recent order from Musicians Friend. You have to call 18007765173 and refer to priority code 307T to get the price.

Thanks, man - you just cost me $99 plus shipping ;)

Seriously - thanks for posting this. I'd scoped the Deep Impact as the next thing I wanted to try on my pedal board (more for octave than synth) and this was too good a deal to pass up. The next best price I'd seen was $130 at Zzounds.

Have any of you had a chance to compare the Deep Impact to Digitech's X-series Synth Wah?

    Which unit tracks better?

    Thanks,

Yes. I didn't find any real tracking problems with either pedal as long as you play clean (and they both track waaay better than the BOSS unit).

I ended up buying the Deep Impact because it had much better sounds (like a real keyboard synth) than any of the others I tried.

I paid $140 from Zz Sounds but I didn't pay any shipping so seeing this $99.99 + shipping from MF doesn't sting too bad.

PS. I also have the UNI-BASS and that is also a great pedal (especially for Power Trio gigs).:bassist: :p :bassist:

Did you read the openning post?(This isn't questioning a Mod, is it?;) )

He says specifically it's not on the web, but in a MF catalog (received in a recent order) by calling a certain # and giving a code he posted as well.

I guess it works more than once (i.e. MF isn't making the code different for every customer, so they don't know that you're not a repeat customer when you call, give the code, and order).

    Smash asks, "How're y'all paying $99 please?"

    I did what Brad described...
...You have to call 1-(800)776-5173 and refer to priority code 307T to get the price...last night and was able to place an order for $99 + $8.95 shipping.

I'm surprised they couldn't pull up the product number if you could give them the product name. I grabbed the product number from the website

    Deep Impact Product #153054
    Unibass Product #153055

Hey, I just paid $139 a few weeks ago. At $99, this is a great deal. Go gettum' guys!

C Flat, I own an Ibanez SB7 Synth Bass pedal, and I've tried the Digitech X series. The SB7 and the Digitech are pretty similar in features, tone, and effects. Without going into the finer details and nuances, I would say that the Deep Impact sounds closer to a keyboard bass synth. The other two pedals sound more like a bass guitar through an envelope filter (not a bad thing, I like the sound of a bass guitar through an envelope too). Both are very usable effects.

The SB7 and Digitech are easier to use as far as tweaking the effects settings using their nobs. The Deep Impact requires a little more effort due to the minimal number of nobs. but on the other hand, I haven't bothered to tweak the Deep Impact because three of the factory presets sound just fine as far as keyboard synth bass tones.

Damn, ordered the $140 Deep Impact last week from zzounds. Hopefully they will do a pricematch. Thanks for the heads up!

  16. Hi, I just bought a second hand (virtually brand new) Deep Impact of Ebay UK and I have to admit to being very impressed with it. I have only had it a few days but I have explored the various presets quite extensively. I think it is a brilliant unit and far superior to the competition. Akai seem to have a knack of making their products sound really good. I am thinking about getting a unibass as well. Anyone got one?

I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't take batteries. Power supply only (which is included).
