Has anybody tried this yet? It is a higher octave pedal with an option of adding a 5th up or a 4th beloe the synth octave. You can also add distortion to the synth notes. I know musicians friend carries it, but I have not seen it to try it at any stores. Can someone give me any input??????? Please??????
I reviewed the pedal for Guitarist magazine a few months back - it's not posted on my website yet, but I'll add it as soon as I get time... basically, it's an OK idea but not very well executed - you'd be much better of getting some kind of multi-fx box with a pitch shift effect in it, as that you can go down as well as up to whatever interval you want... cheers Steve www.steve-lawson.co.uk
Yes, I have a DOD rack unit that was quite cheap and which alows you to add any note/interval up to an octave above or below the original. Amongst loads of other digital effects.
Bruce, is your unit foot switchable? if you would rate the pitch shift on a scale of 1-10. What are the other effects on it?
Yes it is - I have a pedal that switches it to bypass mode noiselessly. I bought it mainly for the reverb - I thought it was strange that a decent digital reverb pedal actually costs more than a rack unit - so the rack unit was about £100, but the cheapest digital reverb pedal I could find was about £125??? It also has delays, chorus, flange and phase shift (?) as well as tremolo and pitch shift detune. I have tried my bass though it, but I don't use effects at all on bass as I don't like the coloration and always play bass flat and clean. I do use effects on elctronic keyboards though, as these need something to make the sound less "dry".
FWIW, I've just added the review to the BassDotCom section of my website, along with a few other reviews and interviews... cheers Steve www.steve-lawson.co.uk
