I hope this is the right place to ask this question... what is the best mic to use for live applications for your bass rig. I've hear AKG D112 and Audix D6's are good...what do you think

  2. AKG D112....good kick mic and also good for bass cabs live abnd studio.

Audix D6's.........designd for kick, this mic has a bass boost/ mid scoop built right into it, but I have used it for bass and it's great for kick too. I feel the D112 is a better choice though.

Sennheiser 421.......also great for bass/cabs and kick.

Shure SM 57.....works well for live application on bass cabs and can be used on kick as well.

This topic would be great for discussion in the Recording Gear Forum.
