I have a Alembic F1 preamp. I love the sound. But I was wondering if there is a "flat" setting? How I am set the preamp right now is...bass at 8, middle at 6, and treble at 3, I only use the bright switch when i slap, or want a more edgie sound.

2-10-2 is the closest thing to flat according to Alembic. Someone more learned will have to explain how a passive EQ works

  3. I've used one for the past 6 years. The flattest setting to my ears is Bass on 9 oclock, Mid on 3 oclock and treble on 9 oclock. or 2-8-2. I did this by lining out of the di to my Mackie board. I fliped the pre-post switch back and forth as I adjusted the tone controls. When I couldn't hear any difference it was at 2-8-2. This may not be very techno oriented, but it works for me:D
