Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Jason Hale, Apr 25, 2004.

  1. I have heard that the Trace Elliot V-type pre is based on the Alembic F1X. Can anyone verify this? They do sould similar.

    control configuratioin is about identical.

each is a 3 band eq + deep and bright switches, DI on the front.

My V-Type has a mid shift when you pull out the mid knob. I don't remember my former Alembic having that.

  3. Actually both are based on the old Fender Showman circuit IIRC. Flat tone settings are bass:5, mids:10, treble:5 and bright / deep switches off. One difference would be the mid-boost on the TE as mentioned above.
