I'm selling a fine Alembic Orion Fretless 4-string. For pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/120702829@N03/13532208034/in/photostream/ As with all of the Orion basses, it features set-neck construction, but also has an upgrade to the electronics found on Alembic's Essence line of basses. This is not a trivial difference, as it means you have the fabulous Q-filter that is big element of the true Alembic sound. And this feature is great on fretless - I've read that this filter was designed to help emulate the attack and decay of acoustic instruments, and I believe it - there are a lot of great tones on this bass. I'd be keeping it, but I pretty much play 5-string, and can't have this much value tied up in a 4-string fretless. In fact, I meant to sell it months ago, but have been incapable of pulling the trigger. Body is mahogany, and I think the top is walnut. Maple neck with walnut stringers, and a fabulous chunk of ebony for the fingerboard. 34", 24 "frets," 1.625" at the brass nut. Condition is very good - the photos show a wear spot along side the E string where a former owner anchored his right thumb, but otherwise minimal play wear, with a few scratches clustered around the bottom of the axe. Comes with a decent semi-hard case. Alembic's current list price on the Orion is $6300. This one is yours for $1600.00, shipped and insured CONUS. No trade offers, please - I'm launching a sell-off of several axes over the next 4-6 weeks.
