Alesis 3630 vs. EHX Black Finger

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Wedding Dress, Dec 20, 2004.

  1. I have narrowed it down between the Alesis 3630 and the EHX Black Finger compressors. I just need some more help deciding between the two, and if there is something better in this price range.

    Thanks for the input guys.

A Behringer Composer is better then a Wall Warted Alesis 3630.

A ART Levelar is better then a Alesis 3630.

    EHX Blackfinger is a pedal.
    A completely different animal,
for a different (and much more limited) app.

The 3630 is useless for bass. I used to have one and it drove me crazy because it made a pop/click sound when low frequencies hit it. I thought it was broken until I did some research and found it is apparently a known design flaw. I like a lot of Alesis stuff but I would avoid this.
