I am floating this prior to ebay and/or Reverb. I had Chopper Anderson make me a 5-string bass in vintage yellow. I dented the perfect finish right where I'd always see it, so I had a local expert luthier take the paint off and we were surprised to see a wonderful wood pattern underneath and left it au natural with bit of an oil treatment. At the same time he installed stainless steel frets and a new nut and did a fine tuning. These basses are extraordinary for the money--what you would pay. The pre-amp is unrivaled and very tweakable. I have recently moved to 4-string basses due to some painful thumbs from past sports-related injuries, 65k miles of road biking, endless typing, and 40+ years of bass playing. I've realistically priced this bass on what I've seen here. I have yet to take a whole rash of photos, but here are some.
I was seriously thinking about one of these and now this comes along (at an incredible price) two days after I bought another bass. This is a crazy deal. GLWTS.
It's only crazy until you read threads of basses for sale. I am not one to negotiate or haggle. Just offer a fair price upfront and be done with it.
The bass has sold. Thanks for your interest. Alien Audio is boutique bass at an affordable price. Since I have moved to 4 strings, perhaps another AA is in my future!
