If true, Seems to me that a study of the proposed patent should be done ASAP and a group opposition legal paper be submitted, if necessary.

Can you patent something you didn't invent?

Recent history proves that all the patent office cares about is collecting fees, so they'll grant a patent on just about anything, whether it works or not, whether there's prior art or not, even if the claims fail to meet the most basic requirements for granting a patent. The Ear Candy site is good for a laugh, that's about all.

I love how the twin ports cancel out gravity. Awesome science.

Wait, are they really trying to patent ported cabs?

Maybe they're only interested in a patent on that distinctive chuffing sound?

Dollars to doughnuts they don't really have a patent pending.

Doubtful...it's just a bunch of ridiculous words from a disreputable builder on a website filled with laughable claims. Why would you believe it for a moment? :eyebrow: Next.

    1. "Patent pending" literally means nothing, but even if it did, the phrase that means everything is:
    2. "Prior art". And unlike a bunch of software patents, this is easily proven.

    Don't worry about it.

ETA: NO SPEAKON? Gotta be kidding me. We're almost 20 years into the 21st century. We can ditch the 100+ year old connector technology.

"Patent" doesn't mean it actually works any better than another design.

Ear Candy is known both for flawed builds and more so for shady business practices.

I made a double ported baffle 2x10 cab back around 2003 and still have the designs and photos, can I claim patent?
