ALL or nuttin’ volume

  1. Howdy all, I’m looking at an old amp head for sale where besides some scratchy pots, the owner says it’s either REALLY loud or can barely be heard. I’m not sure if this is something that some Deoxit could cure off if things signals other, more serious electrical repair needs to be useful? The cool factor is tempting, but the low price has me suspicious ;)

    If it isn't working right it is going to need fixing. What amp is it, that is the main thing that determines how hard it is to fix.

    Pretty fixable, if it does loud, the output section is sort of happy. But will need a whole going over, prob new caps.

    Depends on way too much stuff. But a full service puts it way ahead of one that is not serviced but 'works'.
