Allen Woody Sound

    what strings on a Epi t Bird would give a really allen woody/raw sound.

    Didn't he use flats? I think he is of the hollowbody bass with flats through an overdriven Ampeg school. I say throw a set of TI Flats on there and crank your tube amp to 11!

    Yes, flats for sure. Either that or really, really dead rounds.

    I would say most of that sound comes from driving the heck out of a tube amp.

    Artist:TC Electronic RH450 bass system (original test-pilot)
    He also sometimes used short scale basses through an old SVT...growl city!

    Ya, EB Gibson basses where his thing. He used T-Birds, Rics, And steinberger bass. Never touched a Fender.
