Allen wrenchs=bad stuff???

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Davidoc, Oct 8, 2001.

  1. I've been told that an allen wrench connection running the long-lentgh of the trussrod is a bad way to adjust it; that a regular hex-wrench adjustable one would be better.

    What do you think?

Truss rods are not adjusted with an allen wrench, but rather with a hex T-wrench.

As long as there is one and it is easily accesible it will be fine.

News to me. I've used both, including ball end hex wrenches.

Really? Hhhmm...I guess I should use your signature! :D

I've only ever heard of using the T-bar hex's, though.

  6. I always use the allen wrench that Fender supplied me with.

Shouldn't this be in "setup"! ?

I'm not sure what everybody meant by these terms - I think that they are different in the UK. But I have used loads of different tools to adjust different truss rods and I can't see that it matters as long as it works!!
