So i am considering selling my 2010 Fender Jazz deluxe with nordies single coils and copper shielding to buy this new alleva coppolo lower end model that he is now offering: YouTube - Jimmy talks about Alleva-Coppolo Basses at NAMM 2011

I am an active player most of the time, which means that i also plan to buy his preamp which is about $400.00 The bass cost $2500, So that puts me at about 3k or more :ninja: with preamp and shipping.

I am in no way unsatisfied with My fender, It sounds great in the mix ( i also sold my sadowsky because this Fender felt much better and i was no longer playing the Sadow) and love how it feels i never planned to sell it but i have always wanted an alleva and i think this is my only chance to buy one.

So what would you do or suggest in my position. Buy the alleva with the preamp or just keep the fender? Also what is your personal opinion about the hippie bass?

I like it, but I am a sucker for passive and not quite perfect finishes. I have only played one AC, it was active but was extremely good. Very well built, sounded awesome.

also, is there a waiting list and how long is the wait?

Just order my Hippie Dippy KBP5. Jimmy said he still working on what pickguard he want to put on. He hopes to have churning out by fall or winter. He's getting a lot emails on them. You can't go wrong with the KBP5, they come passive anyway. Can't wait to get my Pino and Raphael Saadiq on. LOL

I play it all. Whatever works for the gig. Q+
All of my Alleva Coppolo KBP4s and KBP5 both Classic Supreme and Standard. are passive.. I have more engineers tell how they love theses basses.. I also run my Alleva LG5 basses in Passive mode 90% of the time...
The Hippy Dippy Trippy is on my short list.. I need to get one too... They are the perfect travel bass same alleva stuff just less $$ and all natural

He sent me a pic of my Hippy P-bass being cut too. Ummmmmm. Lol

  19. So are you asking if you should sell your AmDlx or if we like the Hippy Dippy Trippy?

I don't like the Alleva in that color and I think you should keep the Jazz.
