For sale, here is an Alleva-Coppolo LG5 Classic Supreme. I am the second owner of the bass (bought it from Caner Ustundag of Istanbul). It is in very good shape and plays perfectly fine. Has some scratches here and there, but cosmetically it still looks fine. Jimmy made a transparent ramp in between the two pickups...

The bass is in Istanbul, Turkey currently; but if anyone is interested for a local pickup in Brooklyn or New York City, I will be travelling to the U.S. on Xmas day and I will bring it with me. The price is $4,250. Caner has provided me with further information on the bass, but I will be posting that info later today when I am at home. Please contact me at [email protected] for any questions.

  2. OK, here is some more information after talking to the original owner of the bass...

It is made in 2009 (Caner received it some time in May 2009). It has an alder body (which is the older body style) with a nitro finish and a brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The nut is a notch narrower than the other Allevas.

The reason for why I am selling it? Well, I have quite a few other basses and this one sits there being played at most a few times each year. I am not a low B guy (I have high C's on all my other 5-string basses) either and this bass does not find any play time at all. Furthermore, Vinnie recently finished my new Matt Garrison (by the way, wait for my post regarding that bass, as it is significantly different than a regular MG) and I need to fund part of that purchase by selling the Alleva. Other than that, there is not an issue at all with the bass, to the best of my knowledge. It is a great player!

    Best,

    Alper

Awesome bass at a great price! I have the exact same but without the nitro finish.... tempting :)

Looking forward to hearing about your new Fodera... I remember begging you to sell me your older Fodera many years ago!

  4. Hey Ryan,

Thanks for the kind words, man! The bass was actually sold very fast. I hope the buyer will enjoy it, as this is really an amazing instrument! I am sorry to see it go, but anything that is not played should find a home with more attention! :)

Anyway, I will pick my new Fodera on Dec 30. It is a Mart Garrison, but this time a bolt-on, with only one pickup and with all the controls in the cavity. I never change the settings on my basses so I decided I would prefer no knobs on the instrument at all.

I might even take the preamp off to give it a try it passive, which I prefer more. But we will see...

It has an ash body with a koa top, like my other Fodera, ash neck and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. It is again an 33 incher.

I will post pictures once I receive it.

    Cheers,

    Alper

Did the bass sell or is it still available?

  6. It's gone, Joel. Thanks for asking...
