AllodoX goes hi-end ( a.k.a " looky looky what i just bought )

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by AllodoX, Jun 21, 2003.

  1. Bought me a Status Energy-5 today :D

34", 5-string with graphite neck. This baby sounds just like it looks : like a mothership. It has real deep lows with crystal clear mids and highs. the neck is hard like a solid steel bar, but feels really smooth.

    costs ? 595 Euro ( about $ 610 )

    yeah baby yeah !

p.s. they had a Conklin GrooveTools 7-stringer in the store, which i tried. weird.... but very nice sound :)

Looks real cool, but i'm still waiting for the sound clips on that EDC...

I have yet to play a status bass.

    Heard nothing but good, though.

Congrats! I've played a Status once, man that graphite neck felt good. It had a nice lowend rumble too. The one I played also had a graphite body.

    Great looking bass. Congrats.

Does that mean you're off Ibanez for good?
  5. nice bass- i think yours is one of the first headed Energy models ("Matrix")- I'd guess around 91-94'.
    walnut body.
  6. yep, walnut body :) very cool detail how the neck has no trussrod and how the frets / nut are embedded in it.. very nice

Sweet! I've been GASsin' for a Status headless four myself...

Does the Energy have a flat or a radiused top?

Pretty nice, Alo. I see you still have your Ibanez thing goin' on. :p

I've never tried a Status but the graphites I've played sounded a little 'duddy' to me and dark. Nice looking bass though, I'd be interested in hearing some sound samples.
  13. Er... it's not headless.

  14. wow that is a beaut! I personally like graphite necks, and that one looks like it could cook! Wow, nice score!

Yeah, what's your point? It's a Status - they made them both ways. The body design is the same.
