Well, this is quite a long story, so bear with me. All started from some GAS attack for a surf/seafoam green Fender Jazz bass, with a matching headstock (is it only me with the super specific GAS or is it the standard?) Anyway, looking at the current off-the-shelves options, I only saw some custom shop matching to what I wanted, and even worse than their price tags, they all had some relic work done over, which is not what I wanted. So I continued looking and saw this Polish shop selling refinished MIJ basses. Luckily, they even had one that was very similar to what I wanted - this one: So not exactly surf or seafoam green (more like surf pearl/olive), but close enough and a purchase was made. I live in Berlin so it's not shipped from too far away, and even though the seller wrapped it really well - the shipping company was somehow able to damage it In addition, they obviously took no responsibility for it and declined the insurance claim. So I talked some more with the seller and eventually we agreed he'll take it back and make me a new one. This time I got to choose the color as well So here she is, from bare wood to a complete beauty, MIJ Fender Jazz bass in seafoam green, with a matching headstock: Hope you made it this far, wish me luck getting it undamaged this time!
Hi sgl I will try to keep it short: I hate you!!!! and drool thx for sharing!!! damage (rock!!!) that bass Wise(b)ass
And there she is, no problems this time! Color looks even better than I expected, exactly what I wanted
Sweet! I love it, especially the matching headstock. When I refined a 60's P body I had, Shell Pink, I did the headstock too. Excellent choice!
Much respect for the shop producing these basses - they went well above and beyond to make it right. Personally I liked the damaged bass colour but I'm glad you got what you originally wanted.
Really, really nice. Sehr sehr gut! What brand of pickups are in it? How does it sound? Can you get a good jazz tone from it?
Here is my seafoam/surf green (depending on the light) jazz build. Fender N3 pups, MIM 70's neck, Eden body, Fender hi mass bridge.
