hey guys, its me, the one who doesn't know anything:D at anyrate, i was wondering what double picking is'? how do you do it? is it perhaps, fast picking? or maybe up followed by a down stroke?......please don't laugh at me.........

also, if i might ask, what is double thumb technique?

thanks for any of your input, and remember, be nice :)

  2. Alternate picking is simple – alternate down and up strokes with your pick.

Double picking is simply a down/up stroke on each note. (ex: down, up for each note)

Triple picking works the same way.

here is a link to a site that will help you out by giving you exercises for these techniques. :D

The double-thumb technique involves using your thumb like a guitar pick, ie. executing both downstrokes and upstrokes with your thumb. Victor Wooten and Marcus Miller are masters of this technique.
