Was hoping someone could recommend a head for me. Right now I am playing a P-bass with Lindy Fralin P-ups, through the SVT 3 pro, into a SVT 810e cab. I know, I should just be happy, but I wanted to know if there is a head with more of a versatile sound that can still come close to the vintage SVT sound. I play a lot of reggae, so I want that warm, fat, bottom. But we also do punk, ska, rock, a lot of stuff. And I wanted to know what head could give me a nice dub sound along with a little of the punchier, dare I say "cleaner" sound. Any suggestions?
  2. Ashdown ABM head or otherwise an EBS head. Both brand have nice hybrid amps that feature a tube preamp and solidstate power amps.

    a beter investment MIGHT be a PR-410 . . . it has a lot more lo-end than the 810 IMO

Try an Eden WT400. I've found it to be very warm. Outside of that, I'd say the SVT-3 is a good choice.
