Alvarez basses

    i just got a alvarez 5 string, its a 98' and it doesnt have the two humbuckers on it like the new ones, on mine i have a j bass setup with the p bass pickup in the middle, kinda like the old fender musicmaster's,,,,,, well i was just wondering if anybody has a alvarez bass like mine, or if you dont, have you ever played one and could you give me your review on it (all comments are accepted) thats means even give the band ones if you dont like it, im all open ears for this one.......

    I once owned an Alvarez Villian bass.
    It had a good action and excellent playability.
    When I up-graded the pick-ups to Active Seymor Duncan Basslines to made a huge improvement.

    Basicly a good instrument. Their pick-ups are the "Weakess Link" an upgrade to a name brand active system would be my recommendation.

    thanks for the tip, what pickups would be the best to give my b string the deepest tone possible?

    I don't play 5 string. However, Bart's or Duncan's would be a good choice for any instrument.
