Alvarez new active bass

    Dunno about the new ones, but I own an Alvarez Dana - which is also active. The bass feels and plays great, but doesn't have much low end. The sound is good - but thin. I think there's lots of better sounding basses on the market - but if ya like it, hey, that's all that matters.

    Oh yeah - their tech people (or at least the one I spoke with) are total a$$holes. I had a hum problem with the electronics when I first bought it and the guy said something to the effect of "hey, it's not a thousand dollar bass ya know", and "it's not like you're a famous rock star or something, we're not going to give you any special treatment". Hah!
