I have a really nice Spector, and I'm kind of neurotic about the finish. Playing funk leaves lots of hairline scratches where the fingernail makes contact (obviously). But it kinda bothers me, and I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to but tape or SOMETHING over that spot. Any advice? Or should I just shut up>
you can always put a sticker(or 5) over the place your fingers hit.I know how you feel cause people are always asking me "why do you wear you belt buckel on your side?"and I had to stop wearing any rings or bracelets when I got my Spector but so far I havent gotton a scratch.
some companies make a transparent film that is supposed to go on headlights to protect against chips. as far as i know they're not adhesive, just static mounted. if you found some of that you could cut a piece to fit under your strings and where your hand hits. jason
Well......I don't think it's neurotic for one to want his bass to stay as minty fresh as possible...within reason. ..I wouldn't use tape.....but the headlite stuff sounds intriguing......give it a whirl. -PJR
