    Anyone remember me?
Yes, its me, kirbywrx, aka Phil, the aussie bass player with the Yamaha TRB and the guy who made knobs for a while.

well i left TB ages ago because it didnt hold anything for me, but now i thought i might just stick my head in and say hi. There are some 325000 new posts i have to sus out.

Last time i was here, JT had about 30 basses, a big fancy double neck thing, umm there was this big 'carrots' inside joke going round, and i was a super moderator as well as a moderator of amps...not sure if i still am though.

well i got bored, and thought id drop by and say hi to all the old school kids that remember me, and say a hello to the other million or so n00bs that dont know me.

    so...what have i missed eh?

not much. ive put all my pennies into my own home studio, and the bass playing has dropped off because of it. i still play, but at the moment ive lent my bass and amp to a mate thats in a band, and doesnt have decent gear.

so whats the cool thing around here now a days...hang out in OT still or have we upgraded to misc now? :D

  7. Well feed me corn and watch me grow!

    I remember you, Kirby! Wassup?

By the way, have you seen/heard from Merlin?

He was a funny guy and I miss his humour.

Set a spell, take your shoes off.

    Don't be a stranger.

another vote for "bring back merlin."

carrots are as strong as ever, kirby.

and i've always pronounced your name as "kirby waxer." there's a slight chance that i'm incorrect. :p

The metallica logo tattooed on my right arm will answer that :p

As for merlin, i havent heard from him for yonks... i chat to him on msn occasionally. he is living with his lady friend and working at an audio company, repairing and installing p.a's and that sorta thing.

as for my name, its kirbywrx because when i joined TB all them years ago, i liked the little nintend character kirby, and i thought wrx's were kick@$$ cars (guess we still cant swear here :D )

oh, Michael Jewels, how do you want the money? paypal or what? USD or AUD? :D

Well, the good people at Alembic came around and offered endorsement deals to all moderators, then the folks frem EBS and Glockenklang got into this big fight over who would have the TalkBass Link on their websites. In the end, they called a truce and we have a non-exclusive contract with both.

Then, Victor Wooten, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Berlin and Sting threw a TalkBass Bass bash and flew us all to Camberra for a weekend. We wanted to call you, but no one had your number. Then, we got into some trouble, because Joe Nerve tried to get a Kangoroo and a Koala to mate because they're both marsupials, but this lawyer guy, Mark Latimour got us off the hook. He's a regular member now and we're jerking him around on his attorney fee.:p

    Then..

Bah, someone else make some stuff up. I lost interest.

    Welcome back!
