I'm a sucker for dual P, neck throughs....any opinions on this bass?
Cool or Crap? Click Here
The Dude loves all types of bass-like-instruments..
looks sweet, are you gonna bid on it??~??
Already bid...I'm "Vintagebasstradingco." on eBay.
awesome. DO you really own that company??~??
Looks cool! Not cheap though. The bridge looks interesting, wish there was a closeup. The dual cream reverse-P's flow nicely with the body shape.
Looks cool... Im not too crazy about the Gibson-esque bridge..
I'd rather get a Buzzard, that thing reminds me more of a BC Rich than Entwistle's axe.
Yes, you are. That bass is a hideous freak of the luthiery art.
I think it is presumptuous of me to think that the fact that you dig that bass is the reason you strange.
There could be a variety of reasons you are strange.
a bit like a BC Rich Mockingbird left on a radiator....
speaking of dual P neck-thru's-
strangely modded Rick 4001 on Mike Anthony's site-
(featured in Van Halen's Panama video)
you were strange _way_ before that bass came around.
but no, that bass is very cool, so that doesn't compound your strange quotient.
Yeah yeah....ok I'm strange anyway but I really dig dual reversed P pickup basses.
This one reminds me of those Mourdian (sp?) CS basses that Chris Squire played for a while.
I don't quite see the "Buzzard" connection to be honest with you. I dig Buzzards too but I've never seen one for $600 (more like $6,000).
It's kinda weird. But if you dig that, it's cool. More importantly, I hope it plays well.
I have one of these, it's a nice bass. I paid less than $500 Canadian for it about ten years ago, but the finish was not in as good condition as the one currnetly on ebay.
Nice sweet singing sound in the upper registers.
Dual P setup cuts through well, and records well. I always used both full on which gave a nice balance between the "scooped mid" and the "gronk" sound.
The upper horn is kind of short, which puts the first few positions farther away than say, a Fender, but there is no neck dive.
The pickups (looks like it has the same DiMarzios as mine did) are crap. I put EMG's in.
Wow! Someone who actually owns one of these! How cool is that?? Thanks!
Speaking of BC Rich's check this bad boy out:
Ummm yeah I am the owner and sole employee.
That is one strange looking bass, but it is still cool.
Odd. A BC Rich that doesn't make me BC Retch.
I kinda dig it. Kinda.
For the kind of style it's going for I kind of like it. It looks like a BC Rich but better, (IMO).
