ok, I may sound like a total idiot for asking, but when you hook up multiple cabinets together, does their power handling combine? such as a 300Watt Cab and a 150Watt cab combined to handle 450 watts? I feel like such a dummy.
  2. No. If you have a 300 watt and a 150 watt cab, they will handle 300 and 150 respectively, that will not change. Each cab will get half the power from the amp.

If they are equal impedance, they'll each get half the power, and effectively be a single 300w cab (since the one could only handle 150w). Though overpowering isn't usually a big danger if you're careful.

If they are different impedance, well, probably should run them on separate channels.
