Well, he had the safety off, it was a cocked revolver with a light trigger or ...

    it was a Glock. ;)

  3. It's funny in the "that's not funny but I'm laughing anyway" sense.

    What a maroon.

They're waiting to decide whether to file charges on what... Stupidity ?

  6. My thoughts exactly. If charges are filed, the only thing I could see them being for would be reckless endangerment.

Being that he didn't kill himself, you're in the clear. What a dope.

  8. So what do you make of Darwin Awards?

  9. Nope, it is a great example of irresponsible firearms handling. There are actions and consequences. If you are dumb enough to be irresponsible with a loaded firearm, you are capable of accepting the consequences.

And providing humorous fodder for everyone else.

At least it wasn't the old "football player with loaded firearm in his sweatpants" gag. That is funnier.

That or discharging a firearm within city limits could also be something he could be charged with as well, depending on the location where it happened.

Personally I don't think it's that funny, I'm just glad no one was hurt. I think the story about the guy shooting himself in the nuts with a .22 round he used as a fuse replacement in his car is funnier.

  11. I'm just glad he wasn't hurt. Can someone please explain to me the appeal of sitting on your front porch with a shotgun? Are there really parts of 'Murica where a loaded shotgun in your hand on your front porch is really necessary?

At least sit on your front porch holding an OE 40.

What shotgun? He had a handgun.

In some places, wild animals come out unexpectedly and it's not a bad idea to be armed. Think rural. Very rural.

  19. Ah, my mistake.

I probably read "gun" and thought "shotgun" because there's a guy not far from my house who spends what seems like all of his waking moments sitting on his front porch with a shotgun
