Am,p tech question

    I have Peavey 50 watt practice amp with intermitant problems, sometimes it sounds like there are some nuts and bolts bouncing around on the speaker, real fuzzy tone. Other times it is OK. I have had it apart and the speaker cone seems OK, cleaned the pots with spray cleaner, but they are not noisy or scratchy. Any ideas on where to look? This thing in not worth much but when working it serves a purpose.

    See if any wires are touching the back of the speaker cone.

    Also gently move the cone in and out: if you hear a scratchy noise, the speaker is shot.
