a mate of mine is studying aviation in South Carolina, he useally shops at the local wal-mart store, he wanted some bacon to dinner

then he see this package of bacon "ok, ill try this one"
on this picture it seems to have plenty of meat on it
    [IMG]

he comes home, preparing the dinner, and he opens the bacon package and see this, just fat, almost no meat
    [IMG]

he sent me this pics, first time i saw the second picture, i almost threw up. how in the natures name can you americans eat this stuff? i wouldnt fed it to my dog, if i had one.

    just curious about this

edit : im _not_ bashing on anyone, just wondering :)

Even I wouldn't eat that, and i'll eat anything!

  3. Rule #1: Never buy food at Walmart
Rule #2: Never buy meat products in the US anywhere but a butcher shop or packing plant
Rule#3: Raise all your own food.
I realize that Rule #3 is not entirely reasonable in an increasingly urban society, but it is my solution. If I don't raise it or kill it in hunting season, it doesn't go on the table. I agree, that is disgusting. :spit: :spit: :spit:

  4. Where I live, the bacon has a clear plastic back so you can see if there is actual meat on it before you purchase it.

Forget the other two rules, this is all one needs to know!

Hey, Jonki, could you post a pic of some norwegian bacon? I'd like to see what you guys get to eat over there.

yeah, i'll try! i can say that the norwegian bacon has plenty of meat and few thin stripes of fat.

btw, we have some few types of bacon here in norway

skogsbacon(forestbacon) = thicker than the usual
jegerbacon (hunterbacon) = thicker than the usual, but chopped up in rectangular pieces
stjernebacon (starbacon, usual) = thin and long bacon

You can buy different qualities of bacon with varying amounts of fat. Some people like all the fat...I'd rather have meat. I usually eat turkey bacon as it is.

  8. Looks about the same as this stuff [IMG] :D

Really though, that bacon is the worst excuse for food that I have seen.

He should have bought a better brand, say, Hormel Black Label. As a bacon lover I wouldn't have even bothered to pick that stuff up. There may be some good cheap brands out there, but bacon seems to be one of those things that you get what you pay for...........

Bacon should come with discount tickets to ride the cath lab table.

  15. That's just really bad bacon. Our bacon always has some fat on it, but not like that. That is gross.

  19. I don't eat bacon because it contains

    1.) Too much salt
    2.) Too much fat

    To each his own.

Oh god. That bacon is nasty. I work in a grocery store, and I have never seen bacon with that much fat on it. Then again, I don't work at Wal-Mart.

I only eat turkey bacon anyway. And even then, very rarely.
