So... I just thought I would keep (public) record of my 'P-projects'.

Picked up 'Oly White' Fender American Special P-body from TB (SeismicAssault)

... and- picked up 'Black' Fender American Special P-body from 'the SRATosphere'

... so- off to the luthier http://guitarrestorationsinc.com/ today... (routing J pickup)... and...

couldn't help myself... sold GL jazz body... and picked up an Amer Spec 'black' P body (the STRATosphere)... and am adding a Geddy Lee J neck... problem is that the 'holes' are misaligned by about 3/16" (knew that ahead)- so Charles is 'plugging' the neck... redrill!... will add pics... mint green/b/mg and b/w/b pickguards and bridge cover on the way- will see? :hyper:

dang, i want to see some finished products! sounds like interesting projects, and I'd like to see how they turn out in the end

being perfectly honest, I don't think i was crazy about that nebula PG (most PGs with graphics like that don't do it for me, but to each his own). I feel something a little more understated (does not mean plain!) would work better here.

    so... finished one:

    American Special (black) body
    Geddy Lee Jazz neck
B/W/B pickguard (waiting for mint green/black/mint green)
    SD Basslines QP pickup
    CTS pots
    Switchcraft jack
    Fender bridge cover
    DR Hi-Beams (.045-.105)

Its been said, here and elsewhere, that you will never find the 'perfect' bass... I'm gettin' REAL close... VERY low action... and LOTSA PUNCH!!! :bassist:

'Visited' my Oly white baby today... underwent surgery for J route (even sounds painful)... should have by next w/e!!!

... dang smudges- half my life is spent polishing these things!

  19. Looks good John! Next time you come over I will show you how to get rid of the polish marks. Charles
