Amp @ 8 ... extension cab?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by r6mile, Mar 16, 2006.

  1. I've got an SX BA-1565 (http://www.rondomusic.net/ba1565.html), a 15W practice bass amp working at 8 Ω (it's written on the back). Is there any way to add an extension cab using the headphone jack? If so, what would be the maximal power of the extension cab?

Not with the headphone jack . . . . at least not without using another amp . . . Headphone jacks put out a very low level signal for, well, headphones! If you can get more than about 1/2 of a watt from a headphone jack, I'd be amazed . . . . .

Sorry to say but thats a pointless idea, 15 watt practice amps are not meant to be used like this in any way. If you need more volume for band practice or for live shows, get something stronger. Much stronger.

  4. So, would there be another way to connect an extension cab?

Not to the current amp in question - unless it is designed for an extension speaker and has a speaker extension jack in the back then you can't really do much.

  6. Oh ok thanks for the help.
