I'm playing a show out of town next month and I won't be able to take my cabinet on the train as its a bit big/heavy, and I only ever use it as a monitor anyway.

We're doing to DI the bass at the show, but I was wondering if I would need to take my amp head to the gig for tonal control... or would I leave that up to the soundguy?

If you need more tonal control, get a DI with some eq ability.

Try your bass directly into a good PA before you tour--
    you decide.

    My basses sound good flat.
