what is a fair price, for both seller and buyer, for a used but functional AMP BH-420?

I ask, because though they are much older and "can be had for great prices in the used market" so i hear so frequently on Message boards online, i NEVER see the used around where i live. also, if they are so good, doesnt that mean they will start to command higher prices ?

anyway, i am wondering what those of you who are EDUCATED consumers and sellers would consider a FAIR price whether you were selling or buying.

    thanks.

Most go for $300ish. I got REAL lucky on mine because the guy that listed it on Ebay did not title it correctly. I scored it for $250 and it also came with a 4U Gator Rack (the kind with a handle and wheels) and a BBE Maximizer. Mine was in great shape but I sent it off to Thunderfunk and Dave went thru it, checked everything, cleaned it, replaced the knobs, upgraded the capacitors in the pre-amp circuit and put mini heatsinks on the transistors, etc. I call it a hotrodded and bling bling BH-420!! See for yourself (nice eh??) :D ...

Yeah, I busted him on this earlier (in a PM), but I wasn't going to say it here, but now that it's out, congrats on the BH-420 CrockettNJ! Welcome to the family! :D

i am looking forward to recieving it!!!!!!

even with the 25 shipping, i am pretty happy with the price. He said it works fine, but it looks a little rough. we'll see. maybe a trip to the DR of FUNK?

i bought mine a month ago from tom bowlus here on the TB for $365 shipped. That may be the high end of the market, but I felt it was worth a premium to get a unit from a reputable TB'r. Apparently that unit was owned by at least 2 other TB'rs before Tom. And sure enough the unit arrived fine, is fully functional, sounds great and is a welcome addition. It is also in better shape than the unit you got, but it's inside that counts! I'm sure if you have any problems with yours, its nice to know there is a resource like Dave Funk out there who can help you out. I'll look forward to your review when you get it!

Dave being a tb'er and hearing that he tweeked other peoples bh420 played into my decision in no small degree.
