Amp/cab stacking

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by klejst, Jun 25, 2014.

  1. Just curious, a combo amp with a 1x15 speaker paired with a 2x10 extension cabinet - which is best on the top as far as better tone/sound? Of course many would say just add another 1x15 extension cabinet but that is not what I am asking for the sake of this thread ;)

  2. Depends on the combo, the extension, and the room you are playing in.

  3. probably the combo on top - so that you can reach the knobs better.

The cooling scheme of the combo could, in some cases, could require you don't put a cab on top of it. Not only if it has top vents but also if it has a rear heatsink the top cab would overhang.

  6. My preference is 210 on bottom, 115 on top. But I tend to do things assbackwards.
