What kind of damage will a bass do if you play it through a guitar amp? I dont know if this question has been asked before, or if it sounds stupid, but i have no idea and dont want to ruin any equipment. Thanks.

You can damage the speaker by causing it to travel farther in/out of the frame than it was designed for.

Yah essentially you could blow out the speaker or damage the voice coils. I used to mess around on guitar amps on occasion and would cut teh bass and boost the treble to reduce the risk of damage.

You could get away with it at low volume. Maybe a practice amp for your bedroom. But I wouldn't crank it.
