I have a Laney Session 75 Bassman. I recently got given it by a friend, pretty much the whole time he's owned it it has been distorting, at all volumes. It's not the speaker because it does it when I plug my cab into it as well. I've had a look inside, I can't see any loose wires or anything that looks broken. Any idea what it might be? If you need to know anything else about it then just ask.

    Cheers :)

As far as i can tell it's a charicteristic of the amp, i've had one for about a year, since most of the stuff i play is metal or heavier rock it's not a problem for me.

Todays silly question is: have you tried ajusting for it on the eq? :)

hello there, congrats on reviving a seriously old school thread :) i've actually given the amp away now, it's still not fixed as far as i know. cheers for the reply though!

pretty sure it wasn't how it was eqed, messed about with it a bit, it was definitely knackered in some way...

    cheers,
