My cousin plays guitar and he recently bought a combo amp that he said was an amp emulator. So he could dial in a sound similar to an Ampeg, or Marshall, or whatever. My question is, does anyone know what I'm talking about?! I can't remember the name brand. Also, is there one of these available for bass?

Actually there ARE modeling combos for bass!

The Roland DB-500 and DB-700 have been out for a while, the new Peavey BAM210 should hit stores any day now.

I suspect Peavey will be more successful than Roland and others will follow.

Crate/Ampeg have amps with built in digital FX today. One of the "effects" in the Ampeg amps is an "SVT" setting.
