SHOULD I GET A NEW AMP OR A NEW BASS. MY BASS REALLY SUCKS BUT I DON'T GET ENOUGH POWER WITH THE AMP THAT I HAVE RIGHT NOW. SO WHAT SHOULD I BUY FIRST?

  2. If i was in your position, i'd buy the amp head and say a fat speaker box first. I got a really cool 5 string bass and it sounds sooo ****ty on a crap amp. If i had a decent amp, my old bass would've sounded ok for a while until i could get a really good bass.

I dunno thats just my opinion. a bass can wait, but a decent phat amp will always help the crappy bass bearable. :p

New amp unless if yours is currently sufficient for your situation-i'm playing a little 15watter with an 8 in jazz band & can be overpowering....great feeling though. So i bought a new bass.

First 'suck' is subjective (some say Stingrays suck:)) if your bass is serviceable (plays in tune etc) keep it for a while.

Look for secondhand combo's by reputable makers. If cost is an issue look at the Peavey TNT if not look at the Ampeg B100r.

Fill in your profile fully and press the caps lock button so the light goes off.

All of the above once again is personal opinion normally contrdicted by at least two other posters :)
