Amp News: Fender Buys SWR

    Not sure that this is gonna be great for SWR fans but I'll reserve judgement. What do you guys think?

    hey Mark, there have been a few threads on this already.

    I'm not an SWR user myself and I love fender instruments... but this can't be a good thing with fenders past mergers

    as long as they lower prices cuz there are less comptitors then its all good as if they dont change SWR.

    It's not a merger, it's an aquisition. I doubt there's much downside for Fender.

    I'd think that would depend on the opportunity cost of the acquisition. Without knowing what Fender paid for SWR, I'd assume that at the very least, Fender expects to maintain SWR's current market share while concurrently lowering production costs.
