now i've lurked and lurked but all i can find is threads on the popping due to a faulty preamp or cable, or grounding.

It's not my bass ( as i've got two and it happens on both, and it happens even when im not plugged in ), resolving that it's not my cable.

    What's going on?

my amp pops. And by pop i dont mean little crackling, i mean loud pops.

oh, and for as long as i can remember it ive had a quiet kind of fuzz or humming in the background whenever the amp is on too.

    Any quick fixes, or...fixes?
  2. What amp is it?

If it pops when it's not on, then you got real problems. :smug:

My amp pops when I turn it on and off, but SWR amps do that. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

It really would help if you'd tell us what kind of amp.

    Apopka, FL
    Endorsing: Ampeg Amps, EMG Pickups
His amp is apparently an Ampeg BA210SP according to his profile.

Get rid of it and get a good amp.
