Amp question for pros.

  1. Do you take the same rig with you to every gig? If not, what do you take to what gig?

Nope I definitely mix and match ,my rig. I've got 5 cabs, they're all different, but only ever use 2 at a time. I've been doing this long enough to know which of my speakers to bring to which gigs. It comes down to familiarity with the rooms and the type of music.

If I'm flying blind and don't know much about the gig, I bring the rig that is the most flexible so I can adjust it on the fly and it will respond without complaint.
  3. I take the SVT whenever possible. It's the best sounding amp in the world and it has a volume knob. Otherwise I take a combo.

Yes, I've noticed than many of the worst sounding amps in the world don't have volume knobs. Volume knobs are a valuable asset to any amp that strives to be good, in my opinion.

:p Mine has got 2 volume knobs so it's double-good.
