    Hello,

I'm looking for a good amp repair shop in the San Francisco Bay Area. If anyone has any recommendations I'd greatly appreciate if they'd share them. Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to the board, John!

I was wondering when you'd become a member.

There's an Amp shop next to Guitar Center, but I don't know how good it is. Just wanted to say hi.

Folks, say hi, to John-Carlos. He does some great work fusing Jazz & Native american music. Best of all, he plays Bass! (Well, it's the icing on the cake, anyway) Oh, and he has a cd out too, but I'll let him talk about it. Good to have you on board.

  3. John-Carlos,

I know of two amp repair places in the peninsula:

The Amp Lab: (650)361-1281 (Redwood City, next to Gelb Music)

CAE Sound: (650) 348-2737 (San Mateo)

Amp Lab is the preferred place for G-K repairs; CAE is probably better for high-end equipment.

And when your amp's been in the shop for six months (like my 2000RB - ack!), and you need a rental amp cheap, try Gelb Music at (650) 365-8878 or Lennon Studios at (415) 575-3636.

    Regards,

    Mark
