I just got a good deal on an older ampeg 410he because it had a blown speaker that I plan to replace. This is not a ported cabinet.

Any suggestions on what to use? Do I need an official ampeg speaker?

    It needs a 32ohm speaker.

My research shows that a Jensen Mod 10 50 may do the trick. They even say that it's well suited to SVT replacements... but they may just be blowing smoke.

I'd call Ampeg (the only way to find out where the authorized repair is in your area) and then call the local authorized repair center. Ask them for a price quote and get the speaker specs. You can always order the part and install it yourself. It may be as cheap as getting somthing else, and it will help resale if it's a "match."

THanks for the advice. I called them and it's a 32ohm eminence speaker. I called www.usspeakers.com to get a price quote from them and they had the official "ampeg" svt replacements, so I just got one from them: $60 shipped.
