I'm in the process of buying some new gear and someone made me an offer on his Ampeg 8x10cab. But it is a EN model and i only know the regular E model. What gives? It seems from his describtion that it has 2 Speakon and 2 jacks but isn't ready for bi-amping. Any idea how old it is? He's saying 4-5 years. Thx

    HAH!

The EN cabs are NON-WORKING display cabs...... there weren't very many made.

Just made for folks who wanted a huge wall of cabs in their stage setup, but didn't want them all working.

I don't remember if they even had speaker holes, but of course they could have been cut later.

You might want to look pretty closely at that unit......

    Ok Jerrold thx.
But this guy actually plays the cab!!
So is it a showdummy that's later outfitted with speakers?

  5. I've got a SVT15EN. It doesn't appear to be a "dummy display".

I think I know the answer to the mystery. We are all correct....

The designation in our document system is the issue.

We had a cabinet SVT-810EN which was the 810E with Neutrik connectors some years ago.

The non-working has no dash in the model # in our internal model designation.

What are the first 4 letters of the serial number? That should tell.
