I have the option to trade my swr 6x10 for an ampeg 8x10e. Its a usa made ampeg cab. Unsure of the year. Anyone own the lh500 and use it with an 8x10. The guy im trading with is out of town till saturday. So I have a week or so to wait till we can meet up and try out each others cabs.

Sure, your Hartke amp will sound fine with the ampeg. But keep in mind, those two cabinets sound VERY different. I'm assuming you've played through the ampeg?

Ya, Hartke heads will sound good with it. However, IMHO, there are bad years for SLM 810e's, namely from 2000 up till 2006. Very dark speakers with not much high end. The 90's 810e's sound really good, though.

I have played one With other heads. The svt cl was amazing, I hated the svt 7, It sounded great with a carvin r600 too. Saved the pictures of the cab he sent me.sooner in and county its an e810en cab. Does that mean it has the darker drivers too?

I borrowed one (Lh500)for 2 gigs ( fairly big shows) on a friday and sat. nite ran through my 810e.... and ordered on Sunday morning. I ran it in place of my cl. I was immediately happy. Simple as freaking pie, loud as heck.
