Can anyone shed some light on the black face 8x10E compared to the silver face 8x10AV? Tons of 8x10Es used for sale at rather cheap prices compared to the 8x10AVs... Is there a specific reason or only because there are more black faced cabs produced?

Same cab, different looks and prices. Reason more 810e's are produced: they're cheaper. Plus other than a run of SVT-CL's done up with the silver grillcloth, almost all SVT-CL's are black, and the SVT-VR didn't come out till 2005.

If your gonna spend extra on an 810 looks for a heritage, otherwise just go for a 810E

Agreed with Adam. The Heritage 810e is the best Ampeg 810 ever. The regular ones are really good, but the Heritage is THE cab.
