as previous post said, I am looking for an amp for my teenage son.

I came across to these two amps.

Ampeg B100R or Peavey TNT 150

B100R cost about $50-$75 more than TNT 150.
    Both are in good condition.

My son has Fender Jazz Delux 5 string. Plays rock/jazz I think.

Any opinion which I should go for??

    thanks for help!
  2. I would go with the Ampeg, great sounding amp.

The ampeg will sound loads better than the Peavey. At least $75 better (prbly more).
  4. between just those 2 combo's, I'd definatly go with the ampeg.

The B-100R gets alot of praise around here. There have been people commenting on how well it takes an extended range instrument (5+ strings), while many other combos fart out, and it has a nice vintagey warm tone. I think it would compliment a fender pretty well. It should do well in a Jazz gig, but i'm not so sure for a loud rock gig. One gripe i hear is that it doesn't have a D.I. I would definatley suggest the B-100R over the Peavey.

Then that's what the BA-115 is for. But the B-100R and the B-50R are favored by Jazz guitarists as well because of their ability to get really loud while staying really clean.
