The Ampeg B100R mystery turn-off pop has been solved. Mine didn't pop when I turned it off, I figured maybe it was a later model and it had been addressed.

Mine also had a burned out indicator lamp. I just fixed the lamp, so now I too get the mystery turn-off pop. While it's nice to be part of the club now, tomorrow I'm taking the bulb out.

I just got one and it has the same phenomenon... I just realized that If I play a note while it's powering down, that the pop will not occur. Give that a try and you'll see. Found it interesting.

All SS amps have a turn on/turn off pop. It's caused by the amps electronics stabilizing on power up and the opposite on power down. Most amps have a "protection circuit" that delays the connection of the speakers until after the event has passed.
