Hi I am considering buying an Ampeg B12 and was wondering if it was all that different from a B15? I'm leaning towards the B12 just because it's a bit smaller.

    Thanks!

It uses different tubes as well as the different speaker so it has it's own sound. There's also only one channel.

I hope it's for recording or practice, they are not very loud.

I have both, and they are very nice sounding amps...but don't try to gig with one unless you are in a very very low volume group.

Yeah mainly for recording and practicing at home. Basically I am lusting after a bit of that classic Ampeg sound. So they're both a little different but each will get that sound?

    Thanks for the help.

What Brian described is actually an SB-12.

The B-12N is identical to the B-15N aside from the cabinet and speaker size.
