  1. With what i have and the sound were going for, which head is the better idea? Just looking for some opinions....

    www.sourbloodmusic.com <----- the band

    here is my rig

    ampeg b5r head
    peavy 18" sub dj/cabinet
2x10 hartke i think its the transporter but its not on the unit
    hartke bass attack pedal
    ibanez edb-600gp "beast"

and we play like a blend of hard rock and metal, and i'm trying to see which would be better suited for my playing needs. Even though i'm kinda thinkin that my hartkes are lower end then i thought, i really like the tone and sound i'm getting so far. but wasn't sure if the new b500 head would allow me to reach some really far out their tones for our music.

I'm sure the B500 is a decent head, but its very very expensive for the 500Watts it puts out. Plus, it hasnt really had the time to run its course through marketing and get tested and reviewed and such.

You'd get WAY more value from picking up a B5R used.
