Hello TalkBass I recently bought Ampeg BA-108, low-cost practice amp. It has so far worked well, except today I noticed that it won't turn on. I checked that everything works properly but I can't find anything that may cause this. Should I just take it back to the shop from where I bought it or is there something I can do myself?
Check the fuse? That's the first step I'd take but that's not always the answer. I've bought a couple of these for the high school where I teach...of the 7 we bought, one makes a lot of loud crackling (by itself, no bass needs to be plugged in) and the other one makes no sound at all, even though it's on. Would like some troubleshooting advice for these amps as well cause we don't have the funds to send them for repairs; no resonably priced/efficient repair guys nearby and warranty replacement isn't cheap from here.
Hmm.. I can't seem to locate fuse from the amp, any help on this? It's located next to AC Adapter in my guitar amps, but not in this one..
I'm sure these two folks really appreciate you laughing at them. Good form. I don't know what's going on with your amps, folks, but I can tell you that your best move is to call or email Ampeg's CS department. They reopen after the holidays Friday or Monday but I can't remember which. http://www.ampeg.com/contact.html
Oh man, shouldn't even try to figure out amps when tired. Thank you so much! Yeah, the fuse seems to be broken.. gonna get a new one sooner or later. Thanks for the help
