I am going to either get the Ampeg BA-110 or BA-112 just for practicing in my basement. I think the 110 will be good enough but I keep wondering if the 112 will sound better and be much louder. For a $100 more I am not sure if the 112 would be worth it or not. Help me decide.
BA112 is my favorite of the BA combos, but I think they all sound really good for inexpensive combos. I have the BA110 and BA108 and they totally serve my purpose as practice/tiny gig amps, but yeah, the BA112 does sound a little fuller and goes louder than the other two.
I have a BA112 and highly recommend it for personal practice. I would not accuse it of being louder than...well, anything really. It sounds great, but don't expect it to be very loud.
Another nod to the BA-112. A great sounding combo for home use and very small venues. If you can afford it it's worth the extra $$ IMO.
I picked up a new Yellville-built BA-112 at GC for $158 a few years ago just because it was cheap, but I was really surprised at what a tight, punchy little amp it was. Of course, the final sound is going to depend on what bass you're using, but it's always impressed me as a very underrated amp. Dunno about later manufactured units from who-knows-where.
Well I just ordered the BA-112 from Bestbuy. Hopefully it dosn't take to long to get to me. Thanks for all your help.
Doubt you can get an SVT there but they've been selling music stuff at some stores and online for a couple years now.
